About the film

“There are two deserts” – these were the first words published in the Desert Magazine, a mid-century monthly covering the American southwest. As opposed to the era’s image of the desert as a wasteland, editor Randall Henderson promised his readers to offer them an honest version of what he called the “real desert.” But where does reality end and imagination begin in a landscape of false perspective?

Tracing the transforming Californian desert in past and present, Two Deserts is a 25’ documentary that playfully explores the thin line between fact and fiction, wilderness and civilization, and likes and solitude.

About us

From Form is a film & design studio led by Ashley Govers & Jurjen Versteeg, a husband and wife team.

Together we work both commercially and independently across art direction, film, photography and graphic design from our workshop in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. With a love for the imperfect, our work is defined by a playful and cinematic approach that balances on the verge of the known and the imaginative.

Over the years, the studio has been honored with awards such as the ADC Young Guns, Vimeo Award, and Type Directors Club New York and has been nominated for SXSW, European Design Award, and Art Directors Club.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Depends on a few factors like if you received a reward in exchange for the donation and the value of your donation above that rewards cost, etc. You may contact the nonprofit you donated to directly to receive information on whether or not your donation is tax deductible. Nonetheless, the emailed receipts you will receive for your donation is the documentation you need to make it tax deductible.

How do I know that my donation was made successfully?

You will receive an emailed receipt immediately after your donation is submitted and your credit card is processed. Your donation will also show up on your bank or card statement within 1-3 business days.

Do I get a receipt?

Yes, a receipt is sent to your email inbox once your donation is processed. Please be sure to keep a copy of your receipt for tax purposes. If you select a recurring donation, you will be sent an individual receipt each period when your donation is processed.
